New Watchmen Trailer Released

We're one step closer to getting what you've been waiting for. Yahoo just put up a new trailer for the upcoming movie Watchmen. Should you be excited? Yeah, definitely. UPDATE: The Watchmen review is now available.



The new Watchmen trailer is notable for two reasons. First, it's mostly composed of images that we've seen before in the previous trailer. And that one at least gave us a look at the gruesome genesis of Dr. Manhattan's adventures in blue nudity.

But the second reason this trailer is notable, despite the rehashed images, is that it seems to tell a little more of what the movie is about. While the first trailer just had a hodgepodge of images that would only be recognizable to readers of the Watchmen comics (and they are many) this new trailer actually hints at the plotline, with Rorschach investigating the death of the Comedian. We even get to see that the Comedian was expecting it, and we also get a look at Dr. Manhattan's elitist indifference.

Rorschach got the spotlight in this trailer through narration and a nice bit of screen time, which makes me wonder if they'll be releasing trailers that highlight each Watchmen character in turn. I sure hope they do because we'd like a little more screen time with Nite Owl and Silk Spectre, please. Who watches the Watchmen? Me, as long as they keep pumping out the videos.
