A light and entertaining Minnelli musical that sees secretary Garland falling in love under the clock at Penn Station with soldier Walker, who is on leave for just two days. For me, the film was slow going. The plot is both thin and familiar: boy meets girl, boy (literally) loses girl, boy wins girl. With the emphasis on sweetness, the comedic and selfish aspects of romance are played down.
