Hey, blame Universal. They're the ones who kept throwing money at this project when it was widely known throughout Hollywood that it was a mess. But guess what? It's funny. Sure, it's a misfire and it lost A LOT of money, but it's really a wild ride. ...read the complete 1941 movie review at eFilmCritic

He started out the decade with a well-respected TV movie called Duel and released his first theatrical film, Sugarland Express in 1974. While few ...read the complete 1941 movie review at DVD MovieGuide

I think it had more to do with the ...read the complete 1941 movie review at Goatdog's Movies (Michael W. Phillips, Jr.)

It may possibly be that Mr. Spielberg has chosen gigantic size and unlimited quantity as his comedy method in the awareness that he has no gift whatsoever for small-scale comic conceits. ...read the complete 1941 movie review at New York Times (Vincent Canby)

So what did some of you people do- Get tired of surfing porn all night and decide to jump on the bandwagon of people that have bashed this movie because the critics originally bashed it?? I can watch this movie over and over- What's not to like?? ...

I "discovered" this funny movie on theatrical cut VHS many years ago and laffed alot. The directors cut does not diminish the pace. The DVD re-issue of the old Laser Disc in widescreen is OK but Universal gave the public a non-anamorphic version for ...
