An Alfred Hitchcock thriller about a famous tennis player named Guy Haines (Farley Granger) who is traveling on a train to a tennis match. On the train he meets a playboy named Bruno Anthony (Robert Walker). The two soon become friends and talk about their lives and how Bruno wishes that his father would die, while Guy wishes that his wife would die. Bruno comes up with a plan that they should murder the other’s family member. When Guy hears of his wife’s death and becomes the main suspect ; he fears it will threaten his tennis career. When Bruno discovers that Guy is not going to do his part in the murder of his father, Bruno is upset and tries to leave evidence to connect Guy to his wife’s murder.
MPAA Rating:
PG for some violence and tension.
