Normally I love stories about technology turning against us, but this one, while it had some good original elements and some good action, was a little underwhelming by the end due to its generic plot qualities. Eagle Eye is about a couple of people caught up in a terrorist investigation when they have no idea what's going on, but a maniacal woman seems to be calling them from anywhere and is giving them directions to an ambiguous goal. It's kind of funny seeing the kid from Transformers in this movie because it reminds me how the Mac guy seems to always be in nerd-core movies as well. Michelle Monaghan brings a bit of an unconvincing performance as I think a woman scared for the safety of her child would be far more frantic. It almost seemed like she didn't care. Shia LaBeouf gives a much more convincing performance and really makes you care about him. The action scenes in this movie were pretty good and original and really saved the movie. I liked this movie but it had more potential.
